Howdo

My name's Newt. I'm a web developer by trade and a games writer/designer/publisher by hobby.  I've been playing Rpgs since 1984, and have played numerous systems. My personal favourites are D100 (BRP/RuneQuest), HeroQuest, Burning Wheel, Cyberpunk, Paranoia and Mythic Russia. I'm based in Oldham in the United Kingdom, which is an old mill town just outside of Manchester.  I used to help run the Furnace Convention in Sheffield in October, as the Games Coordinator, (I stepped down in 2009 before the birth of my second child) and have run games at various UK Games Conventions since 1996, which is kinda how I got into sorting D101 games out.

So how about you?

Dr Moose, (Stuart Mousir-Harrison, if you really must), professional God-botherer (vicar and university chaplain) and RPG-fan and wannabee author (published in Tradetalk and HiG1, fame at last!). Gaming since 1980 (starting on AD&D before "moving swiftly on"). Still in love with Glorantha and the Imperium after all these years, and like any long-term love there are good seasons and.. less good ones. Default to d100 (BRP/CoC/RQ2) and Traveller when in doubt, but keen on HeroQuest (which I ref occasionally at cons - Continuum and Tentacles) and Savage and Wordplay (which I don't). Far keener on settings rather than systems and a contributor to the Gwenthia project (especially Durustan and Gara-Dien). Based in Northampton, UK and currently inactive after leaving the Maidstone Archers group down in Rochester. Desperately in need of a regular gaming fix!

Also quite keen on the time-eating hobby of Geofiction and spending far too much time on Facebook. Father to two small daughters (who don't realise how odd I am) and a very understanding wife (who does!)

I'm Keith, long time Glorantha fan, father of 4 boys, Englishman living in Sydney, Australia. Currently working in a paint factory. Grew up in Bedfordshire, then moved to the northwest and stayed there, leaving behind a job in a Rochdale textile mill to emmigrate.

Too busy for gaming at the moment, but still interested. Maybe when there are fewer nappies (the younger boys) and boys football boots
(the older boys) around the house it might be possible.

Fond of Grotarons and glorantha theming of boardgames.

Gord. Living in Bristol, UK. Gamer since 1983 with a long break from 1990-ish until a few years ago. Stay-at-home Dad with two kids...a three year old and a baby...hence the amount of time spent on gaming forums.  Grin

Games I'm into: anything old school...and the retro-clones, Star Wars d6, Hollow Earth Expedition, Call of Cthulhu/BRP/Stormbringer and plenty of others.

Games I play: whatever my group want to...which is usually none of the above.  Roll Eyes

Hello all,

Just stopping in to introduce myself. My name is Shane Mangus. I have been gaming since 1980. Red box Basic Dungeons & Dragons (Erol Otus cover) was my gateway into the hobby. Over the years I have played way too many systems to name here, but the ones I love the most have been AD&D, Call of Cthulhu, Castles & Crusades, NEMESIS, BRP, RuneQuest (I have played 3rd edition and MRQ) and FASERIP / 4C. I recently purchased HackMaster Basic, and I found it to be in many ways a nice mix of AD&D and BRP. I have also downloaded OpenQuest and I am loving what I am reading. This may be just what I need for my current game.

For those interested, I also maintain a gaming blog. The link for the blog is in my signature. I have a deep fascination for all things Lovecraftian, and my favorite literary genre is sword & sorcery. In my blog I explore ways to meld the two together. So far most of the material I have presented has been developed for Castles & Crusades, but I am finding more and more that I am working too hard on game mechanics and not enough on adventures and setting.

I have always felt D100 (BRP/RQ/Stormbringer) is the best overall system to handle sword & sorcery gaming. I chose C&C basically because it is what my group preferred to play. I am now hearing from them that they would be open to try RuneQuest. I decided to take them up on the offer. My plan is to take a few elements from MRQ and jazz up OpenQuest a bit as the base system for the game. Obviously I can now bring in a healthy dose of Call of Cthulhu as well, and I have the game I wanted from the beginning.

Thanks for reading,

Shane

Howdy all -

I'm Gerall Kahla, long time BRP / Glorantha fan from Texas, US. Somewhat system-agnostic, I prefer something that gets out of the way of the story and adventure. I *love* collecting unique settings.

Other interests include ancient history, cooking, building hobby robots, and writing.

Nice to see the forums! Best regards.

Hi, I'm Paul Mitchener.  I'm a mathematics lecturer.  Been into RPGs (both playing and running) since around 1987.  Shockingly enough, I can't remember the exact year.

These days my favourite systems are (in alphabetical order) the FATE (Diaspora, Spirit of the Century), One Roll Engine (Reign, Wild Talents), OpenQuest, Wordplay.

Gosh, these things are harder to write than they look, aren't they?

Hello,
My name is Luigi Castellani, I'm an italian web-designer/developer (despite a fine arts training). I've been playng RPGs since 1980 and have tried lots of different system before settling on rules-light games and free games.
I occasionally help in the development of free games on the web either as writer or artist. To this day I contributed to Mazes & Minotaurs, BFRPG, Imperium and wrote my own little Swords and Planet game: "Under the moons of Zoon".

Hi

My name is Che Webster, aka Ubiquitous Rat, and I just discovered D101 Games while visiting Continuum. Loving OpenQuest and Monkey, and awaiting my copy of Wordplay too.

Been a long-time roleplayer from the early days of Traveller, worked for Games Workshop, and more recently decided to go into a teaching career. We have a regular group here too, and they are well used to playtesting - helped with numerous games including WFRP and Dark Heresy in recent years.

For me this marks a return to d100 gaming for the development of our homegrown setting, Dark Reich. I'm also a major fan of FATE (Diaspora/SotC), Hero, GURPS, and Fudge.

So... *waves* and says "Hi!"
 Cool
